MEET YOUR TRAINER
Hello! Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Deborah Freeman, and I am your Klickerdog Dog Trainer.
I have over twenty years of experience training dogs, much of which comes from working with shelter dogs. Dogs who were surrendered, abandoned, stray, or seized.
After years of working with hundreds of shelter dogs, I found many had already experienced and failed with aversive training methods. This encouraged me to pursue behavior science and practice training methods that were less invasive and produced better results.
As a private trainer, I have the luxury of giving my clients and their families my undivided attention and a personalized plan for their dog-related issues. My mission is to give people the tools they need to keep the family dog part of the family.
I prioritize staying informed on modern, humane, science-based training methods. Following the core values and code of ethics provided by the IAABC, I train following the LIMA protocols of least invasive, minimally aversive methods.
In simple terms, I do not train with choke, prong, or electronic devices. I do train with reinforcers like food and play. Solid knowledge of canine behavior is critical if you truly want to understand and communicate with your pet.
I am here to bridge that gap for you.
